Allah’s Chilli Challenge: 3,000 Plants for People and Pollinators 🌶️🌱
In my Circleism beliefs, I describe a personal spiritual experience involving Allah, 3,000 concubines and a Covenant of Chillies. I cannot present that experience as an established teaching of Islam, and mainstream Islamic teaching should be distinguished from my personal interpretation.
But there is a practical challenge hidden inside the symbolism:
Can 3,000 people each grow one chilli plant?
Instead of treating “3,000 concubines” as literally requiring 3,000 girlfriends, the challenge can become something anyone can voluntarily participate in. Every participant grows one chilli plant and learns how food can be produced at home.
The challenge
3,000 volunteers × 1 chilli plant = 3,000 chilli plants.
Grow yours in a garden, greenhouse or sunny windowsill. Look after it, harvest the chillies, save some seeds where appropriate, and share surplus produce with friends, neighbours or community food projects.
Participation should always be voluntary. Nobody owes another person a relationship, religious commitment or labour in exchange for taking part.
For me, the chilli represents my Covenant of Chillies. For somebody else, it might simply represent growing food and helping their community.
Different beliefs, one very real plant. 🌶️
