I don’t know whether you’ll ever read this, but I wanted to write down an experience that changed my life and explain why I have hoped we might meet again one day.
Several years ago I visited Ripon Cathedral. During that visit I collected rainwater using an upside-down umbrella and a water jug. As I was doing this, something happened that I found extraordinary.
Music began playing inside the cathedral.
At the same time, I saw lights on the floor illuminate one after another from left to right. As the final light came on, the music stopped.
I experienced this as a deeply spiritual moment.
From my perspective, I believed that Father God spoke to me and said:
“You should have enough water.”
Following that experience, I came to believe that I would one day meet Elle from Escort Centre at a harvest festival. This has remained a personal spiritual hope that has stayed with me ever since. I understand that others may see this differently, but it has been an important part of my faith and my journey.
